Golf outing raises money for center of independent living

MAZON – The Mazon State Bank held its 21st annual Golf Outing last month at the Dwight Country Club where funds were raised for local nonprofit organizations.

A total of $3,300 was presented to the Will-Grundy Center for Independent Living from proceeds from the outing, according to a news release.

The Will-Grundy Center for Independent Living will use these funds to support its independent living skills enhancement program. As a result of learning various skills, people with disabilities are able to reduce dependency upon others and live a more independent lifestyle.

A United Way agency, the Will-Grundy Center for Independent Living is at 2415 W. Jefferson St., Joliet. Services are provided to anyone with a disability of any age at no charge. For information, call 815-729-0162.
