Coal City attorney’s son joins law firm

COAL CITY – Attorney Larry G. Wharrie is proud to announce that his son, Ryan M. Wharrie, has joined him in the practice of law at 105 S. Broadway St., Coal City.

The law office will now be known as the Wharrie Law Firm, according to a news release from the firm. Ryan has been an assistant state’s attorney in DuPage County since being admitted to the bar in Illinois in 2009. While in DuPage County, Ryan was a trial prosecutor gaining extensive experience in criminal and traffic cases. 

A 2002 graduate of Coal City High School and a 2006 graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, Ryan received his lawdegree from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, in 2009. While in law school, he was a member of the trial advocacy team and was a law clerk for the San Diego Public Defender’s Office. During his third year of law school, Ryan completed an internship as a law clerk in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and then worked for Richard M. Beuke, a prominent criminal defense attorney in Chicago, while preparing for the bar exam. 

The Wharrie Law Firm is a general practice specializing in criminal and traffic defense, personal injury, real estate and probate.
