Morris Hospital receives six ’14 Excellence in Healthcare Awards

MORRIS – Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers recently received six 2014 Excellence in Healthcare awards based on patients’ perception of their overall quality of care.

The awards come from Professional Research Consultants, the marketing research firm that conducts the patient perception surveys for Morris Hospital, and included:

• 5-Star Outpatient Clinic – Primary Care Overall Quality of Care Award presented to the Marseilles Healthcare Center;

• 5-Star Outpatient Clinic – Primary Care Overall Quality of Care Award presented to the Minooka Healthcare Center;

• 5-Star Emergency Department Services Overall Quality of Care Award presented to the Emergency Department;

• 5-Star Outpatient Radiology Services Overall Quality of Care Award presented to Imaging Services;

• 5-Star Outpatient Laboratory Services Overall Quality of Care Award presented to the Laboratory;

• 5-Star Outpatient Services Overall Quality of Care Award presented to the Laboratory, Imaging and Cardiology departments for their combined scores.

5-Star awards are presented to hospitals ranking in the top 10 percent of PRC’s national client database based on the percent of patients who give an “excellent” rating on the overall quality of care question.

New this year, PRC also presented awards to hospitals with top scores on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey that all hospitals are required to conduct. Morris Hospital received 5-Star awards for Communication about Medications, Communication with Nurses, Discharge Information, and Overall Hospital Rating.
