WILMINGTON - A man apparently fell to his death while climbing a cellular tower.

The body of Edward Squellati, 37, of Wilmington, was found at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday by a service technician at the American Tower site in the 30600 block of South Route 53 near New River Road, Police Chief Phillip Arnold said.

"The fence for the tower, which is over 100-feet tall, had been cut with a tool that was found at the scene," Arnold said.

Squellati was not authorized to be at the tower, according to police and the Will County Coroner's office. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6 p.m.
