St. Mary’s Minooka Blood Drive to be held

Babysitter’s training course to be held

MORRIS – Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is offering its last Babysitter’s Training Course for the year on 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, in Whitman Assembly Room 1 at Morris Hospital, 150 W. High Street in Morris.

The Babysitter’s Training Course is a opportunity for youth age 11 and older who are interested in acquiring the information and education needed for a safe babysitting experience. Topics include first aid, diapering and feeding techniques, bedtime strategies, safe and age-appropriate toys and games, and preparing for a babysitting interview. Participants should bring a doll to class.

childbirth classes

MORRIS – Morris Hospital Super Saturday Childbirth class is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 150 W. High St., Morris. This one-day class covering labor, comfort measures, relaxation and medical interventions, pain management options and vaginal and cesarean birth. Cost is $60. Family fun night

MINOOKA – The Ellis House and Equestrian Center, 13986 McKanna Road, Minooka, has scheduled a family fun night from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Pony Rides, tractor-pulled hay rides, face painting, bonfire, crafts, board games, nature trails and concessions will be offered.

Historic association

meeting to be held

NEWARK – Fern Dell Historic Association annual meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Fern Dell Museum, 9 Front St., Newark. A program on the history of Helmar Lutheran Church will be presented by Howard Christian, a lifelong member of Helmar Lutheran Church and draws from personal knowledge as well as family history. The meeting will also include a recap of the year’s activities and election of Board Members. Member of the association and the general public are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
