Operation St. Nick donates to fill up We Care pantry

Operation St. Nick recently sponsored a “Fill the Pantry” date at We Care of Grundy County. The organization donated $650 to We Care, which purchased over 3,477 pounds of food from the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Operation St. Nick volunteers unloaded the food from the NIFB truck and stocked it on We Care's pantry shelves. The NIFB is able to provide food to food pantries at prices that are unattainable in grocery stores. The delivery that Operation St. Nick purchased for We Care included such items as 14-ounce boxes of cereal for 22 cents each, free donuts, 12.9- ounce frozen pizzas for 15 cents each and 8-ounce packages of turkey lunch meat for 11 cents each. “We were glad to have the opportunity to help We Care fill the pantry and hop
