Lions Club extends invite to open house

Gardner group to mark anniversary of service to the area

GARDNER — The Gardner Lions Club will be hosting an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at the Gardner American Legion.

The club extends an invitation for everyone to attend their 60th anniversary of community service to the Gardner area, and the 35th anniversary of the Lions of Illinois Foundation.

The Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Unit will be available for anyone wishing to have a free eye screening for Diabetic Retinopathy which is the leading cause of new blindness in adults in the United States today. Early detection is a major factor in the prevention of visual loss.

The screening may determine if you have a retinal problem associated with macular degeneration. This free service is provided by the Lions of Illinois Foundation.

Everyone is welcome. Cake and ice cream will be served.
