Marseilles man dies in Saturday crash

Boaz struck utility pole near Grand Ridge

A MARSEILLES man died in a single-vehicle accident about noon Saturday, June 13, near Grand Ridge in La Salle County.

Keifer S. Boaz, 20, Marseilles, was pronounced dead at the scene by the La Salle County coroner's office.

La Salle deputies reported Boaz was driving on N. 17th Road in Otter Creek Township when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole.

Grand Ridge Ambulance was called to the scene along with the coroner's office.

Coroner Jody Bernard reported an autopsy will be done and toxicology tests performed.
