Doerfler elected State Advocate

William "Bill" Doerfler of Morris was elected to the position of State Advocate to the Illinois State Council Knights of Columbus State Board at the 112th annual convention held at the Westin Hotel in Lombard, Ill., the weekend of May 22 to 24.

The State Advocate is one of the top four elected officers representing over 72,000 Catholic men who belong to the Knights of Columbus in the six dioceses in the state of Illinois. This is the beginning step on to achieve State Deputy, the highest office held in a state capacity.

Doerfler has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for 41 years. He belongs to Dupontaris Council #845 in Morris.
