Dwight men in need of ride take car

Two men steal car from Tinley Park train station, take case containing several items

Two men were held in the county jail on charges which resulted from taking a vehicle from the Tinley Park train station.

Bradley Krause, 19, 122 Seminole, Dwight, was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle, driving with a suspended license and disobeying a stop sign.

Dale Yost, 29, 122 Seminole, Dwight, was charged with burglary for removing a laptop case from the vehicle. The case contained CDs, a paintball gun and change. The vehicle, owned by Patrick Hennigan, sustained significant damage and was towed to the county impound lot. Hennigan had it removed on  Monday.

About 9:45 a.m. Friday, June 19, Deputy Paul Clampitt was called to Woods and Goodfarm roads, where a southbound vehicle had gone through the T intersection and into a field owned by Paul Frobish.

The deputy reported the driver left the field and returned to eastbound Goodfarm Road.

A short time later, Deputy Clampitt reported he was notified that a vehicle had gone off Scully Road, west of Illinois 47, and two men were seen running south towards Interstate 55.

Dwight police were notified and spotted the men at Interstate 55. Deputy Clampitt reported he stopped them walking on an Interstate 55 ramp.

Krause told the deputy they needed a ride from the train station in Tinley Park to Dwight.

Police reported Krause indicated he walked around the parking lot at the train station and saw the unlocked vehicle with the keys inside.

Yost, who was carrying the computer case, denied knowing the vehicle had been taken without permission. He admitted taking the computer case from the vehicle.
