MVK graduates eighth graders

The Mazon-Verona-Kinsman Elementary School District 2C held their eighth grade graduation at the MVK Middle School Gym on May 22, 2009.
Mrs. Nancy Dillow, Superintendent of MVK District welcomed everyone to the affair. Mrs. Debra Paulsen, Principal of Mazon Middle School presented the class to Mr. Dan Mehochko, President of the Board of Education, who presented the class members with their diplomas.
Presidential Awards and IPA Awards were presented by Mrs. Paulsen. IPA Awards were presented to Hannah Mehochko and Justin Walsh. Jane Kilmer Spirit Award was presented by Mrs. Tammy Halterman to Jaime Marques. American Legion Awards were presented by Legionnaire Mr. James Sterba to Hannah Mehochko and Justin Walsh. MVK Chorus members sang "We Must Say Goodbye," accompanied by Mrs. Sarah Windham.
Student Sharing remarks were read by 8th Grade Student Council member Hannah Mehochko, assisted by Jaime Marques. Seventh grade ushers were Mallory Misener, Selena Venecia, Teddy McCormack and Scott Anderson.
The processional "Pomp and Circumstance" and recessional "Rondeau from Premiere Suite" was directed by band director, Mr. Luke Windham.
The 24 graduates were: Mariah Novelle Bright, Tyler Patrick Bunker, Aaron Cockream, Joshua D. Cortez, Katlyn Irene Dally, Shannon Michelle Fitch, Carlos I. Gonzalez, Kevin M. Harris Jr., Jennifer Lynn Hyslop, Jacob Alan Kelly, Austin S. King, Connor Q. Leake, Brandon Allen Ledlow, Christopher M. Lee Jr., Jaime Elaine Marques, Ryan Matthew McRaven, Hannah Marie Mehochko, Christian Thomas Miller, Donald L. Rich, Loren N. Roszak, Cody W.R. Russell, Evan Donald Vint, Justin Jacob Walsh, and Jamie Leann Wilson.
The Class Motto was "Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire." Class colors were pink and black. Class flower was a rose. The class song was "Second Chance". Student Council members were Aaron Cockream, Hannah Mehochko, Chris Lee and Justin Walsh. Seventh grade ushers were Mallory Misener, Selena Venecia, Teddy McCormack and Scott Anderson.
