Dennis G. Sullivan, 69, of Morris and formerly of Bemidji, MN, died on Saturday, June 27 in the Morris Hospital. He was born on Aug. 15, 1939 in Morris, the son of Lesterand Gretchen (Hull) Sullivan.

He was educated in Morris schools and was a graduate of Morris Community High School with the Class of 1957. Received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education from Bemidji State University in 1967 and earned a Master's Degree in Business Education with a minor in music from St. Cloud State University.

Sullivan served his country in the U.S. Navy from May 31, 1958 until May 27, 1960 and he taught business subjects in Wisconsin Rapids High School from 1967-68. After that he was a financial auditor from 1969-71 in Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN. From there he became an accounting teacher for 23 years and was an administrative dean for 7 years at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, MN until his retirement in 2001.

In 2007 Sullivan moved to Morris to make his home with Kay Ayers.

He enjoyed fishing, buying and reparing computers, walking and spending time with his family and friends. Was a member of American Legion Post #294.

Surviving is the mother of his children, Cathy Sullivan of Redondo Beach, CA; a daughter Carrie (Ben) Edmonds, Santa Cruz, CA; two sons, Andrew (Christina) Sullivan of Torrance, CA and Peter Sullivan of Sedona, AZ. Five grandchildren; Nicholas, Rylan, Noah, Hannah and Leah; two brothers David (Alice) Sullivan of Green Valley, AZ and Paul Sullivan, Sullivan, AZ. Also his loving companion Kay Ayers of Morris. Also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Wed., July 1 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at U.C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home LTD., 301 W. Washington St. Funeral services will also be conducted on Thurs., July 2 at 10:30 a.mn. with Reverend Christy Taube Gantzert officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetary with military honors conducted by the Morris color guard.
