Public invited to KCHS picnic

YORKVILLE – Are you interested in local history?

The Kendall County Historical Society invites you to their annual Member’s and Friend’s Picnic on Monday, July 13, at Lyon Farm and Village on Illinois 71 in Yorkville.

You will have the opportunity to learn more about the Society, and some interesting facts about local families and the past history of the area.

The potluck dinner begins at 6 p.m.  Please bring a dish to pass and your own table service. Drinks will be provided by KCHS.

Following a short business meeting, Ed Pell will give a program on bee keeping, and especially about re-establishing the honey bees at Lyon Farm.

He will also explain the educational program on bee keeping that will be available at Lyon Farm.

Lincecum, Greinke win Cy Young awards

Zack Greinke justly won the American League Cy Young award earlier this week. I'm not so sure Tim Lincecum of San Francisco deserved his second straight win in the NL, which he received today.
