Constantine A. “Cas” Zebrauskas, 85, of Morris, and formerly of Riverdale, Ill., passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, Sept. 3, 2009, in the Emergency Room of Morris Hospital.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Immaculate Conception Church, 516 E. Jackson St., Morris, with the Rev. Fr. Richard Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cementer in Elwood, Ill., with full military honors provided by the Morris Color Guard.

Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Konstantine and Francis Rimkus Zebrauskas. He was educated in Chicago schools, graduating from Fenger High School with the Class of 1942.

He served his country with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II.

Mr. Zebrauskas married Katherine A. Schabloske on Feb. 2, 1946, in All Saints Catholic Church in Chicago.

He was employed with Illinois Central Railroad for over 40 years as an electrician, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed traveling, camping at Indian Creek Campground in Wauponsee Township, working crossword puzzles, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A member of Immaculate Conception Church, he was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Riverdale Chapter.

Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Katherine, of Morris; one son, Dennis Zebrauskas of Dyer, Ind.; one daughter, Patricia (Norm) Pacholski of Plainfield, Ill.; five grandchildren, Denise (Michael) Pfrommer, Sheri Zebrauskas, Michael (Nicole) Pacholski, Cristie (Christopher) Busse and Dawn Zebrauskas; and six great grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler, Alexa, Hunter, Colton and Delaney.

Also surviving are two sisters, Sister Therese Bernadette Zebrauskas and Virginia Ozys of Chicago; one brother, Jerome (Audrey) Zebrauskas of Wilmington, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson, Brian Pacholski; one great granddaughter, Hope Pacholski; three sisters; and one brother.
