Two new residences among projects under way

Permits for two single family homes and one commercial build out were issued in September by Morris Building and Zoning Director Bill Cheshareck.

Single-Family Homes

• Hayes Construction of 3345 Nettle Creek Drive, paid $320 for a permit Sept. 18 to construct a $405,000 house at 1067 Shadow Wood in Wooded Lakes, second addition.

Other fees included $750 each for the water and sewer tap-ons, $150 for the plumbing inspection, $1,642 for the school site donation, $559.25 for the park site donation, $250 for the sewer bond and $750 for the sidewalk bond.

• Northlake Builders, 1097 Timber Edge, paid $321 for a permit Sept. 24 to build a $284,000 house at 1631 Waterview in Island Estates.

Other fees included $750 each for the tap-ons, $150 for the plumbing inspection, $1,642 for the school site donation, $559.25 for the park site donation, $250 for the sewer bond, and $750 for the sidewalk bond.

Business Build Out

• Lisa Sztapka, N. Broadway, Coal City, paid $100 for a permit Sept. 29 to do a commercial build out at 702 Liberty Street, for the Designing Image Salon. No estimate of the cost of the project was given. She also paid $70 each for the plumbing and building inspection fees.

Room Addition

• Mike Matuszewski, 423 Hopkins Court, paid $25 for a permit Sept. 3 to make a $30,000 addition, totaling 360 square feet, to the residence. Other fees were $70 for the plumbing inspection and $105 for the building inspection.

Garages

• Jim and Kim Smith, 222 W. Benton St., paid $42 for a permit Sept. 24 to build a $53,000 attached garage of about 720 square feet.

• Brian Pearcy, 755 E. Main, paid $25 for a permit Sept. 1 to build a $10,000 detached garage, measuring 700 square feet.

• Jewel Buttry, 915 E. North St., paid $25 for a permit Sept. 1 to build a 576 square-foot detached garage, at an estimated cost of $8,000.

Storage buildings, fences and decks

• William and Doris Lanning, 601 Brentwood, paid $15 for a permit Sept. 1 to put up a $1,000 storage building.

• Spyro Analytis, 114 Waverly, paid $15 for a permit Sept. 8 to install a storage building at a cost of $1,000.

• Kevin Wren, 244 Robinson Drive, paid $15 for a permit Sept. 30 to install a $1,000 deck.

• Rich Feehan, 103 Hoge St., paid $15 for a permit Sept. 15 to construct a $1,500 deck.

• Phyllis Barrett, 906 Shabbona, paid $15 for a permit Sept. 22 to install a $7,500 fence.

• Dannielle Greene, 330 Robin-son Drive, paid $15 for a permit Sept. 1 to install a $1,200 fence.

Signs

• John Latimer and S & L Development, 1544 Creek Drive, paid $25 for a permit Sept. 15 to install a 53 square-foot sign at that address.

• A permit for a sign for the headquarters of Sue Rezin for State Representative was issued Sept.1 for 306 E. Jefferson St. The fee was $50 for the 64 square-foot sign.

Re-roofing

• Re-roofing permits at $25 each were issued to the following: Sherman Workman, 1616 Lisbon for 1526-1528 Schubert; Bauer Roofing, Seneca, for 1455 Cedarwood Court; Dan Hicks, 2633 Little Blue Stem; Oriole Builders, Airport Road for 106 Arrowhead; H & S Construction, 413 E. Benton, for 720 Michael Drive; Viking Roofing, Mokena, for 311 E. Illinois Avenue; and TomKat Roofing, Streator, for 105 W. Main St.

Other Permits

• Randy Larson, 822 Fremont Avenue, paid $35 for a permit Sept. 4 to have an electrical upgrade done at a cost of about $1,000.

• Permits for curb cuts, at $1,000 each, were issued to Nick Delgado, 320 E. Jackson for 751 Armstrong St., and Luisana and Francisco Perez, 404 E. Illinois Avenue.
