
Candidates begin filing for primaryBy Michael Farrell - mfarrell@morrisdailyherald.comSeveral candidates for Grundy County Board filed petitions at 8 a.m. Monday with the Grundy County Clerk’s office. Overall, however, the number of candidates filing petitions for the Feb. 2 primary was low. Three Democratic incumbents from County Board District 3 filed petitions at 8 a.m. Monday, William Rodosky, 5460 Ransom Road, Verona, Ann Gill, 710 Pheasant, and Richard Joyce, 495 Garfield, both of Coal City. From District 2, Republican challenger Chris Balkema, 26617 Samanatha, Channahon, filed his petition at 8 a.m. Incumbent Democrat Jacqueline McKinney, 502 Kilheeney Dr., Minooka and Republican John Galloway, 111 Carriage Dr., Morris, each filed for another term on the county board from District 2, but after 8 a.m. From District 1, David Welter of 217 Buchanan, filed as a Republican. Incumbents Sheriff Terry Marketti, 514 Jackson St., Gardner, and Treasurer Marcy Miller, 1264 Bredan, also filed their petitions. Comments
