The Family Room Store expands hours to FridaysOTTAWA — Ottawa Regional Hospital & Healthcare Center’s The Family Room Store has expanded its hours and is now open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays mornings. The announcement adds a third business day for the store, which was already open from 3 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. “This additional day of operation will help us to better serve the increasing number of families seeking our services,” said Sue McElya, Ottawa Regional’s director of volunteer services. “The program’s enrollment has grown substantially this past year and we suspect the economy may be part of the reason for the increase.” The Family Room provides new or like-new infant and household supplies to parents of children from birth to age three, in exchange for points earned through positive parenting behavior. It is a joint endeavor of the Ottawa Regional Hospital Auxiliary, the Ottawa Regional Hospital Foundation, the Housing Authority for La Salle County, and the La Salle County Health Department, and is a program of the Ottawa Regional Department of Volunteer Services. To join The Family Room program, a client must have a signed referral card from the Housing Authority for La Salle County, the La Salle County Health Department, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) or an Ottawa Regional physician. For more information, call Ottawa Regional at (815) 431-5432. Comments
