The Lady Irish (3-1) also received 8 points and 9 rebounds from Victoria Imes and 6 points and 11 rebounds from Alanna Viken.

"I was pleased to see us do a better job of executing our offense in the second half," said Seneca coach Barb Beck. "After we slowed down, we got ourselves some good looks."

Julia Strouse scored 7 points, Brittany Mikel had 7, Jen James hauled in 11 rebounds with 2 steals, Stef Howard had 3 assists and Cassie Randolph had 2 steals.

"Good to get our first win," said Reed-Custer coach Matt Peterson. "Most solid game we have played yet, and Jacklyn Strouse got her second double-double in as many games. We got 6 people in the scoring column tonight, so that was nice to see."

AURORA — Jacklyn Strouse had another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, but the Lady Comets could not emerge out of a 26-10 halftime hole late Friday at the Aurora Christian Tournament. Their other standouts were Julia Strouse with 5 points and 3 assists, James with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals and Howard with 3 assists.

"Turnovers killed us," said Peterson. "We gave them almost 30 more attempts at baskets. We have to limit those. I am happy with the way we fought and battled back. Julia Strouse and Kourtni Fitzwater both hit big 3-pointers to get us within 6."
