Two area men charged with beating Kinsman man

TWO MEN were charged with aggravated battery for beating a man in Kinsman early on Sunday, Nov. 22.
Luke Harty, 32, 301 Lincoln St., Ransom and Scott Finch, 32, 1095 S. Heritage Dr., Diamond, were taken to the county jail. Finch was also charged with obstructing and resisting police.

Bond was set at $1,000 cash for each and they will hire their own attorneys.

Faud Nafie, 35, no address given, was taken to Morris Hospital by Dwight Ambulance for treatment of injuries.

Deputies Josh Slattery and Brett Black reported they were called to Uncle Dave’s Bar in Kinsman for a beating.

They reported Nafie was on the ground and being treated by local medical personnel. He was bleeding and had head and facial injuries.

The deputies reported they were told Finch had run behind the fire station and found him on the ground behind an air conditioning unit.

They reported Finch refused to show both hands, then grabbed Deputy Black by the arms and would not let go. Deputy Black reported he used pepper spray on Finch, and he was taken into custody.

Finch had a cut on his and and blood on his clothes. He was taken to Morris Hospital for treatment of the cut on his hand before being taken to the county jail.

Deputy Slattery reported Harty came to Morris Hospital, where he denied making any contact with Nafie.

The deputy reported Harty also had blood on his clothes. Based on this and witnesses who said Harty had kicked Nafie several times, he was also charged with aggravated battery.
