Injury suit settled for $14,000

A suit filed by a man injured while working with a Nautillus pull down machine was settled in circuit court for a total of $14,000.

Lou Smith of Will County filed the suit Jan. 25, 2008, against Orthotech Sports Medical Equipment and Nautillus, seeking damages for his injuries.

The complaint charged on July 19, 2007, Smith was at Dynamic Fitness in Diamond. While adjusting the belts on the machine, a steel rod went into his forearm.

According to court records, Smith settled with Orthotech for $11,000 and Nautilaus for $3,000.
