Muriel M. VanDuyne

BRAIDWOOD — Mrs. Muriel M. VanDuyne, 68, of Braidwood, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Oct. 10, 1941, in Goodrich, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Noel and Elsie (Wischnowski) Denault. She married Dale VanDuyne on Oct. 12, 1960, in Rota, Spain.

Muriel retired from R.R. Donnelly in Dwight. She was member of the First Christian Church in Morris. She was very active in the M&M Club and helping with dinners at the church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Wendy (Paul) Speed of Custer Park and Teresa (Jeff) Housman of Morris; one son, Kris (Alicia) VanDuyne of Braidwood; seven grandchildren, Tyler Speed, Zach Speed, Shane Speed, Matthew Housman, Megan Housman, Ember VanDuyne and Ava VanDuyne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at the First Christian Church, with visitation one hour preceding services. Rev. Todd Thompson will officiate.

Interment will be at Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to The Benevolent Fund at the First Christian Church would be appreciated.
