BRIEFS: Trivia Night to be held at Shabbona

Shabbona Middle School Music Boosters will hold its first annual Trivia Night at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at Shabbona School.

The theme for the trivia is “Musicals.” All proceeds will benefit Shabbona Middle School’s Music Boosters.

Cost is $10 per person. There is a limit of 8 people per table.

Participants are encouraged to bring a bowl for the popcorn sale.

Lions Club to serve Sunday breakfast

GARDNER — The Gardner Lions Club will serve breakfast at the Gardner American Legion Hall on Sunday, Feb. 7, from 7 a.m. until noon.

The menu will consist of pancakes, eggs, sausage or bacon, biscuits and gravy, toast, coffee, juice and milk.

Funds raised will benefit the Gardner Grade School Tiger Talk Book Club, visually and hearing impaired and any other community project funded by the Gardner Lions. A free breakfast will be given to three lucky customers. Come out for a great breakfast and support the Lions.

Area musicians to unite on Monday

The “Grand Music Festival” will be presented Monday, Feb. 8, at Morris Community High School. 

Approximately 350 music students from Shabbona Middle School; Saratoga School; Immaculate Conception School; and Morris Community High School, will join forces to present this evening concert at 7 p.m. in the Main Gymnasium at MCHS.

The students will rehearse at MCHS during the school day, preparing individual choir and band selections, performing for each other, and practicing the combined selection.

No admission will be charged for the performance.
