How many hot dogs can one person eat in two minutes?

Ten individuals tried to answer that question Friday afternoon during the annual hot dog eating contest held at the Grundy County Courthouse lawn.

Jay Capron of the local radio station used the double-fist method to eat his hot dogs. Morris Daily Herald Correspondent Christina Chapman tried her best, eating one hot dog but showing up in style; covered in ketchup and mustard packets.

In the end, Kevin Callahan of the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department and Paul Nordstrom, regional superintendent of Grundy/Kendall Regional Office of Education, both gobbled down five hot dogs apiece to tie for first place. The two split the $500 award money that will be given to their respective charities.
