Kicking off Morris' Nostalgia Days for the third year was the Bone-ified pet parade Thursday night, which dozens of dog owners walked their four-legged friends down Liberty Street.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes braved the warm weather to show off their new hair cuts and stylish bandanas; all dressed to the patriotic theme.
Lexi, a seven year-old chihuahua, was the smallest dog in the parade; garnering plenty of attention from kids watching the dogs pass. Her owner, Susan Thorpe, said that, despite her size, Lexi is usually pretty good with long walks.
Karen Patton brought the two biggest dogs in the parade. Her English Mastiffs, Ceaser's Lucilla (Lucy) and Champion Sillar's Next Big Thing (Nigel) brought up the rear of the parade. Nigel, as he is known around the house, is a former Best of Breed and National Sweepstakes winner.
Patton pointed out that people often mistake Mastiffs for St. Bernards, as seen in the Beethoven movie series; but she is quick to point out that her dogs are bigger.
"The dog from Sandlot was a Mastiff," she said.
